anesthesiologist post!!!!
I am an anesthesiologist!
1) Your rent plus utilities (gas, water, internet, phone, etc.) is $540 a month! What percentage of your monthly income is this?
540/1200=.45=45%
2) You spend about 6% of your income per month on your cell phone bill! What amount is this?
.06x1200=$72
3) You usually spend around $200 per month on groceries. Find this percentage.
200/1,200=n/100 1,200n=20,000/1200=16.67%
4) You spend about $40 per week on gas filling your car's gas tank! What percentage of your monthly income is spent on gas?
40x4=160 160/1,200= 13.33%
5) You like to use the remaining money and split it - using 60% on entertainment (movies, shopping, etc.) and putting the other 40% in savings. About how much money is spent on entertainment and how much is put in savings?
have $228 left. .60x228=$136.80 entertainment: $136.80
.40x228=$91.20 savings: $91.20

♥challenge♥
Pretend you want to fit a perfectly shaped circular rug into your perfectly square room. All you know right now is that the radius of the rug is "r" feet long. 1) Find the area of the rug, 2) the area of the room and then 3) the area of the room that won't be covered by the rug. (hint -draw a picture!)
1) area of the rug= 3.14r squared
2) area of room= 4r squared
3) area of room without rug= 4r squared - 3.14r squared
1) area of the rug= 3.14r squared
2) area of room= 4r squared
3) area of room without rug= 4r squared - 3.14r squared

♥gas price post♥
Using the new gas price, 2.2o, it would cost around 55 dollars to fill up my tank. I would pay 14.75 less than I would one month ago. The lowest local gas price that I found in Lake County is 1.69 at a Marathon in Mentor, Ohio.
One thing I learned from this article is that one of the reasons for the dropping of gas prices is because we are going to go into a recession. I also learned that the declining oil prices might be the only thing giving/saving people money. Another thing I learned is that every time the price of oil drops $1, U.S. consumers save around $1 billion dollars. I think that it is really interesting that the last time oil prices collapsed like this and stayed down was in the early 1980's. It seemed very unlikely for this to happen at this time. I have learned many things from this article.

polynomial post
I learned many things from visiting these websites. One thing I learned is that when multiplying monomials, the base stays the same and you just add the exponents. From reading the article, this is much more clear to me. I also learned that monomials will never have a + or a - sign in them, they are just one term. Another thing I learned is that a polynomial is the sum of two monomials. One last thing I learned is that is that when adding polynomials, you just remove any parenthesis and combine like terms. A lot of things are more clear to me now after reading these articles.

30 Days 30 Ways to Save
1) I chose the article 30 Days 30 Ways to Save: Cost savings with cloth diapers because I haven't heard of many people using cloth diapers. I wanted to know how the cloth diapers save money.
2) This article relates to my cousin Jodie. She has a baby girl that is still in diapers. I can tell her about the cloth diapers and if she made the switch, she would be saving a lot of money and helping the environment.
3) From reading this article, I learned that cloth diapers are a lot better than disposable diapers. First of all, you are saving a lot of money because you can use the same diaper again and again. On average, the cost of disposable diapers from birth to potty training age is $2,500.00. The average cost of cloth diapers from birth to potty trainging age is $480.00. If you use cloth diapers you are saving around $2,020. Cloth diapers are also better for the environment. Surprisingly, Americans use enough disposable diapers to fill up a football stadium 3 times over in a years time. It also takes several lifetimes for disposable diapers to decompose. Overall, cloth diapers are much better than disposable diapers.
1) I chose the article 30 Days 30 Ways to Save: Back to school shopping bargains because I wanted to find out how to save money when school shopping.
2) This article relates to my whole family and all of my friends. We all go back to school shopping for clothes. We usually go to the mall and the clothes are always very expensive. If we started shopping for school at Plato's Closet or Once Upon a Child, we would be saving a lot of money.
3) I have learned a lot of things from reading this article.I now know that you don't have to go to all of the popular and expensive stores to get there clothes. If you go to Plato's Closet or Once Upon a Child, you can get the same exact clothes from the mall for a cheaper price. For example, at Plato's Closet, you can get Abercrombie, Hollister and American Eagle jeans for just $16. This is way cheaper than the actual price. With the gas prices so high these days, a lot of people want to save. If they go to Plato's Closet or Once Upon a child, they can save up to 40% on sales. Overall, Plato's Closet and Once Upon a Child will save you a lot of money!

♥assignment 4♥
2) If I was the average American, I would spend 105 miles driving to work and 105 driving home from work in one week. I know this by doing 15miles x 7days a week. Although I would only work 5 out of the 7 days, the 2 days on the weekend would use up gas for going to the grocery store, mall, movies, etc. This would use about 150 extra miles. So my total miles driven in 1 week would be around 360 miles. (105+105+150)
3) mpg:25 local gas price(p): $2.79 at Sheetz
equation: 350/25 x 2.79=t
solution: $39.06 is how much I will spend on gas in one week
*BONUS*
Can you make an equation for how much you spend on gas in one month?
equation: (350 x 4)/mpg x p=t
mpg= miles per gallon p= local gas price t= total cost
(350 x 4)/25 x 2.79=t
Using this equation, my total amount of money spent on gas in one month would be $156.24
Originally I chose a hybrid car and I would definitely stick with it!

what car would I want??
If my parents would buy me any car I wanted, I would ask for a Saturn Sky. I would choose this car because it saves gas for the environment. This car uses gas and needs to be charged. This car is also luxurious. It has ergonomically designed controls, sport bucket seats, and a convertable top. The Saturn Sky is also very safe because it includes OnStar* with one year Safe & Sound plan. It also has anti-lock brakes. The Saturn Sky has a great performance, it features an engine that goes from 0-60 miles in 5.5 seconds. This car holds 13 gallons and you get 25 miles per gallon. You can drive around 325 miles on one tank. To fill up the whole tank at Sheetz in Perry, it would cost $42.25. The total price of this car is $26,475. Hopefully when I turn 16, my parents will buy me this car.
